How can I recover sound I lost after using Yahoo for voice chat?

I was chatting with someone last night on Yahoo Messenger and since after we disconnected I can't hear anything. I checked all the sound controls and they are set normally, I tried different media like earphones, speakers, etc, and nothing. I rebooted, nothing. I WANT MY SOUND BACK!!

I also had the idea that it could be a virus, but the antivirus hasn't detected anything and I haven't downloaded anything for a while, but if anyone knows of any viri that do this please let me know, too.

Yahoo should have someone looking into questions in this section, I see a lot of them unanswered :( but I am hopeful someone can explain mine.

Give me a break about Yahoo checking these problems. Yahoo found a great way to get users to give free advice and save Yahoo lots of money because they don't have to hire additional tech support. My son is a gamer and uses a headset/mic. After he was finished, the music on his computer would still go through the headphones. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices. Click Sounds and Audio Devices. Click the audio tab and make sure the default audio device is set to your soundcard and not the headset. You might have to do that with your recording device (sorry, I can't remember). No guarantees on this one, but I hope it fixes your problem.
